Grandma can have her special pre-birth bonding time and the last four weeks of your pregnancy will be less stressful now that everybody understands how you want to dress your baby.
Even if you are not the crafty type you have no reason to panic. If you have a computer and the internet, you will find that baby punk clothing can be simplified. Do a Google search for punk baby clothes and you will be amazed to find the punkling layette you were looking for. Everything from skulls and crossbones to all black ensembles are easily located in the comfort of your own home. Baby clothing and supplies online shop suggestions?
My eldest brother and his wife are expecting their first child in June/July-we just found out it was a boy so I really want to start buying clothes and supplies for him. However in store clothing is rather bland/boring…so I was wondering if anyone knew of online shops that offered a more unique option to baby clothing, that is not ridiculously overpriced(I saw a jumper that was 50-60$ and for a baby who is going to stain and outgrow that clothing quickly, I believe it just to overpriced)

Two things to consider. First, what makes your boutique unique? What do you bring to your market that nobody else does, or that nobody else does in quite the way that you do?
Most people go into business and think that if they simply copy their competition, they’ll succeed. That doesn’t work.
You want to stand out. I know. That goes against most people’s nature. We like to stay somewhat in the shadows to avoid people thinking badly of us.
Well, that doesn’t work in business. In business, you have to offer something beyond what your competitors do. After all, how many times have you bought from a business that proudly claimed, “We’re just like our competitors. We even try to do things as well as they do?”
OK, enough rambling. Look for some way that you stand out. Don’t be afraid to inject your personality into your business. Once you’ve brainstormed all the ways that you bring a unique flavor to the boutique world, then see if you can find some connections between that uniqueness and useful keywords.
The keywords (search terms) that people use to find the kinds of things you offer can help you gain visitors. So if you can find an intersection between your unique qualities and the terms your potential customers are looking for, grab it.
If not, you’ll have to decide which is more important to you: a catchy, memorable name that doesn’t necessarily draw traffic, or a generic, keyword-oriented name that may help you a little with the search engines.
Personally, I would lean toward highlighting your uniqueness. You can work on traffic in many ways. But you want what sets you apart to stick with them.

don’t know what area you live in, but Babies R’ Us definitely has the biggest selection of cute bibs, like you’re talking about…. and don’t just think about something he can use/wear RIGHT NOW. Look at their clearance racks for really cute clothes that he can wear at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. Cheap! Also, places like Marshall’s, Ross, and TJ Maxx sometimes have really cute, cheap baby things. They are used baby and kid stuff but like new and very trendy. I can get a whole infant outfit (pants,top,hat) for $4 and they only accept stan free stuff. Its good profit.
Unique Baby Clothing – Online Stores?
Okay, I’m looking for a variety of online baby clothing stores. I don’t want to buy the traditional Walmart or other department store onesies etc, if you know what I mean.
I’m looking for really unique and hip, kind of “sophisticated” baby clothing. I hope you get what I mean, I want her to be dressed in trendy clothing, that perhaps doesn’t look like traditional and cheap baby clothes. I’m kind of going for a more sophisticated and more expensive wardrobe with FEWER pieces, than the normal baby wardrobe, which has many many clothes that are rather cheap cost wise.
I don’t mind if it’s branded or not, but preferably not too expensive, probably less than $50 per piece, depending on what it is.

I’m actually a fashion major, so I do know how to sew. I was actually just creating a cute little outfit yesterday, so I do know that sewing is a great idea, and it does save a lot of money!
As for the $50, it’s just a general idea, but we would like to stay around that price range. I would say we could spend about $150 to $200 on a few items, perhaps a designer labelled dress and coat for special occasions, so Saks Fifth Avenue would be great for that. But I doubt we could afford an entire wardrobe at that price…

I think your best bet for buying sophisticated baby clothing is a high end department store like Barneys or Saks Fifth Avenue, although I doubt you’ll find many items under your $50 budget. Everything else tends to be pretty generic. My sister’s friend, Gina, actually just started making her own baby clothes. Gina had a similar goal, to have her infant daughter look as stylish as she does when they were out, but she couldn’t find a good source for unique clothes. She checked out this website:

Now her daughter is as stylish as her fashion savvy mother, and she’s not a full time tailor, but she’s fixed up a couple pairs of pants and zippers for me. If you don’t know how to sew, I encourage you to try; it’s not as hard as I’d imagined, and Gina claims the books she bought paid for themselves with all the money she’s saved making her daughter’s clothes.

well, congratulations, and have fun with him…i am an aunt too, so i was very excited when i finally became one…anyways i got some bibs at wal mart that said things like “i love my aunt” “spoiled rotton by the best, my aunt”, etc..i also got a t-shirt that says “i may be small, but i can still wrap my auntie around my little finger”..you can also go to a screen printing place and create your own t-shirt or blanket or whatever it is you want…u hope this helps…
p.s. your nephew will become so much fun when he gets older…but enjoy him while he is little…they grow so darn fast….

One of my favorite gifts were a pair of Robeez, they have a bunch of styles for boys and girls. They’ll fit him awhile too, since they start at 0-6 months. You can find them at the mall in Stride Rite and some other stores as well, and they’re about $20-40.

Just make her a nice little gift basket of baby girl things. Go to Target or Walmart and go though the baby girl section and pick out a few things that are cute and reasonably priced. Then put them all together in a nicely wrapped basket with a bow. Maybe include some things for your step mom too, like some chocolates. HTH

Alot of stuff they have in store are not on walmart/babies r us websites.
You can get diaper shirts (onesies) that have cute sayings on it, a baby book, a really cute outfit, A gift basket with an outfit, baby bath stuff and a toy.
If you are very creative you could make a blanket, or buy some plain white diaper shirts and use fabric markers and design a couple yourself.

There is an abundance of cute baby girl clothes everywhere, but I have a hard time finding baby boy clothes that don’t have airplanes, cars, balls and baseball bats on them. I also don’t like those sporty or grown up looking baby boy clothes that look like miniature adult clothes. I want like a little sailor’s outfit or striped trousers with suspenders, cute button down shirts with a bow tie around the neck, jackets with herringbone or checkered patterns, etc. Basically anything really cute and a little bit unique.
